Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service, 1:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m. at the Peterson Mortuary, Glenwood.

A memorial fund has been established.

Lyle D. Kizzier, 83 of Omaha, NE, formerly of Atlantic, IA, and Council Bluffs, IA, entered into eternal rest on September 25, 2007 in Omaha, NE. He was born Aug. 29, 1924 in Pacific Junction, IA to Claude A. & Laura May (Alexander) Kizzier. Lyle was united in marriage to Roberta Mae Moore on Aug. 24, 1947 in Glenwood, IA. To this union three sons were born, Mark, Greg, and David.

Lyle faithfully served his country during WW II in the Army from 1943-46. He was employed forty years with the Iowa Department of Transportation as an office manager. Lyle was a talented pitcher and baseball player and enjoyed watching it on television in his later years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and never missed an event that his children were involved with while they were growing up. He dearly loved his family and spending time with each of them.

Preceding Lyle in death were his parents, brother, Dale, sisters, Darlene and Louella. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Roberta Kizzier of Omaha, NE; sons, Mark & wife Terri Kizzier of Bellevue, Greg Kizzier of Omaha, NE; David Kizzier of Granger, IA; 2 grandchildren, Abigail Schuckman and Elizabeth Kizzier and great-granddaughter, Erica Schuckman.
