Lyle Pierce, Sr. 79 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska formerly of Glenwood, Iowa passed away June 27, 2019 at his home in Plattsmouth. He was born November 6, 1939 in Silver City, Iowa to Marvin and Geneva (Rist) Pierce.
Lyle faithfully served his country in the Navy from 1957-1960 and was on a midway aircraft carrier during this time. He was employed with Roberts Dairy as a production worker and machine operator. Lyle was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan and loved spending time with his family.
Preceding Lyle in passing were his parents, son Lyle Pierce, Jr.; sisters, Katherine Fisher and Aleta Stady. Survivors include Mary Pierce of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; children Tammy and Robert Norman of Bellevue, Nebraska; Phillip Pierce of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Kim and Ty Morris of Nehawka, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings Barbara Pakos; Ruth Schmahl both of Pacific Junction, Iowa; John Pierce of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Joyce Wright of Council Bluffs, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Disabled American Veterans.
Interment with Military Rites: Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.

Mary and family, you already know how much Bud and I thought of Lyle. He was a terrific guy, and would go out of his way to help people. He will be missed. Not only was Lyle and I classmates, I will add one thing I never knew–I notice his birthday and mine are the same, Nov 6, 1939..
