Lynn Franklin Merritt, 77, of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on Dec. 4, 2010 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born Aug. 28, 1933 in Pacific Junction, Iowa (Pony Creek). He graduated from Glenwood High School. Lynn faithfully served his country as a Sea Bee in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Lynn was united in marriage to Betty June Cashatt on April 10, 1954 in Yuma, Arizona. To this union two sons were born, Bradford Jay Merritt and Anthony Merritt. He was an honest, sincere, hardworking and dedicated individual. Lynn was completely devoted to his family and had a tremendous work ethic. He was employed in the automotive field with NAPA for 35 å_ years until his health forced him into retirement. He was a member and past commander of the V.F.W., American Legion and a charter member of the Jay Cee’s.

Preceding Lynn in death were his parents, brothers, Glen and Edward Merritt and sister, Ethel Wray. He is survived by his wife, Betty Merritt of Glenwood, Iowa; sons, Bradford Jay Merritt of Denver, Colorado; Anthony (Tony) & wife Monica Merritt of Glenwood, Iowa; two grandchildren, Toby and Felica Merritt and three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Cameron and Damon Merritt; sister, Elva & husband Albert Roenfeld of Mineola, Iowa; sister-in-law, Carrie Merritt of Glenwood, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
