Margaret Helen-an only child, born February 13, 1924. Parents – Ernest A. and Verna (Wood) White in the Hillsdale Community. Attended school-Four Corner Rural School. Graduated from Tabor High School, 1942. Following graduation attended business school in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She wanted to be a secretary. Employed in Omaha, Mills County Courthouse, Tabor (FM School) and Glenwood State Hospital from which she retired. Married to Forrest “Mike” Bloomer, after his return from World War II-September 16, 1945 at the Hillsdale Methodist Church. Lived on the farm, always helped with field work, with the livestock. Lived in 4 houses in a 2 mile area of Hillsdale Community. Auction business was also her life. For 24 years was the secretary/treasurer for the Iowa Auctioneers Association. Attended many state and national conventions pertaining to the auction business, keeping up with the latest issues. Loved to garden and loved flowers in her yard. Liked to embroidery, loved photos and has albums of them all. Loved to travel and has been in all states except 3. Have scrapbooks of each trip.
Home was blessed with two children, Ernest A. and LuAnn. She loved family history and has many scrapbooks of family and scrapbooks of friends. For years, did scrapbooks for Hillsdale Methodist Church and her high school class. She kept a daily diary dating back to 1943. She was a 4-H member and helped her children when they were in 4-H. Was a member of the famous Mills County 4-H Band.
She was a news correspondent for the Hillsdale Community for the local newspapers for many years. She served on many committees: Tabor Library, Mills County Council, Rawles Township, Rural School district board, active with Hillsdale church board and was on the committee when the new Hillsdale Church was built, 4-H committees, Mills County tourism. She loved gospel music, especially the famous Blackwood Brothers, who she and Mike were personal friends in the 1950’s when the quartet broadcast live from KMA in Shenandoah, Iowa. She quilted with the Hillsdale Quilt Bats. She always remembered loved ones with birthday and anniversary cards and gifts. Her house always had decorations pertaining to the season and especially Christmas.
Earl Thies was her companion for 35 years. She helped with the auctions of his in Ames and Glenwood. They lived their lives together and traveled the country together including Alaska. Preceding her in death were her parents, her beloved husband, Mike who passed away July 8, 1974. Also preceding her were Grandsons; Kaleb Peverill, Michael Bloomer and Great Grandson Johnathan Bloomer. Surviving her are her life partner, Earl Thies, her children Ernest A. (Sherry) Bloomer, Emerson, Iowa, LuAnn Bloomer-Peverill (Todd), Glenwood, Iowa, step-children, Dallas (Cynthia) Thies, Ames, Iowa, and Galen (Grace) Thies, Omaha, Nebraska. Other surviving close relatives are sister-in law Mary Bloomer, Denver, Colorado, Maxine (Phil) Farley, Broomfield, Colorado, brothers-in-law, Don Thies and Duane Thies, Winside Nebraska. 8 Grandchildren, Matt and Sam Bloomer, Kelsey and Collin Peverill, Brandee Woods, Justun, Sean and Julian Thies. 12 Great grandchildren, Joanna Bloomer, Aydan, Gracey and Colton Bloomer, Owen and Henry Peverill, Bailey and Mason Peverill, Darius Thies, Deion and Delaynee Woods, Kayleigh Thies.

**Also, we are not going to put together a high-tech video. Instead, please bring or send a favorite photo you have of her…to share…..with my family and all her friends and acquaintances.
Interment, Tabor Cemetery, Tabor, Iowa.

So sorry to hear of Margaret’s passing. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed by many. Loved visiting with her when I went to the auction house. May God wrap his loving arms around the family, may all your good memories of Margaret easy your pain.
My condolences to the Bloomer family during this sad time. I have known her all my life and very sad. She was a strong women and will always be loved and missed.

I am saddened to learn of Margaret’s passing. She was one of the jolliest and sweet ladies I have ever known. My, but she will be missed by so very many. Prayers.
