Graveside Service: Friday, August 19, 2022, 10:30 A.M., Glenwood Cemetery, 1105 N. Locust Street, Glenwood, Iowa. We ask family and friends to meet at Peterson Mortuary prior to departing to Glenwood Cemetery.
Margaret Lee Anita Delavan was born on March 23, 1947 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to George T. and Anita Helen (Bendt) Marshall. She passed away August 15, 2022 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Margaret was raised in Silver City, Iowa and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1964. She met and married Sam Delavan on September 18, 1966 at St. John Lutheran Church in Mineola, Iowa where she was a member.
Margaret was CFO for Twin Towers Reality. She was a member of Eastern Star and Lioness. She loved collecting antiques and also had over 300 Santa Claus’s along with a large collection of antique hair combs.
Preceding Margaret in passing were her parents and brother George Marshall, Jr. Survivors include her husband Sam Delavan; son Marshall (Tracy) Delavan all of Glenwood, Iowa; grandson Alec Delavan of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brothers Edward (Shirley) Marshall of Omaha, Nebraska; Terry (Vanesa) Marshall of Glenwood, Iowa; Dale (Resa) Marshall of Thurman, Iowa; sister-in-law Linda Marshall of Malvern, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Association.

I met Margaret, when I was 4, she was 5, 70 yrs ago. She was my Best Friend, Margaret was always there for me. Sam, Marshall, and Alex, Margaret was so Grateful, and Proud of You, She was a Warrior Thank You for Margaret, Father. I Love You Marg.

My thoughts and Prayers are to Sam and the Marshall families with the loss of Margaret. I remember her first in his school as being a very kind person who everyone liked. I was proud of public service to the county and the community. She appeared smart and very competent.
I agree with Lorna. She was a real warrior and was impressed how she was so positive during those times. I am sure she will be greatly missed in the community and by all.

Oh, I am so terribly saddened to hear of Margaret’s passing. She was a dear friend to all of us who knew her. Prayers and heartfelt condolences to Sam, my high school friend.
So very sorry to hear about this Sam, she was such a lovely lovely lady. Remembering her through her smile, always always had a smile. God has gained a wonderful Angel.
