Marilee Shaw, 79 of Red Oak, IA, formerly of Glenwood, IA, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2007 in Red Oak, IA. She was born August 31, 1927 in Montgomery County, IA to John & Leah (Jones) Peterson.

Marilee attended Drake University in Des Moines. She was united in marriage to Dwight Shaw on Jan. 25, 1972 in Elk Point, S.D. Marilee was employed with the Glenwood Resource Center as a supervisor for many years. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She volunteered at the Glenwood Public Library and the elementary schools. Knitting bonnets for infants born in the Montgomery Hospital gave her great pleasure. Marilee was a faithful and gracious volunteer to many people. Her love for flower gardening was shown many times as she was rewarded for Yard of the Month with her beautiful tulip beds. Some of her favorite pastimes were painting, photography and ceramics. She had a special place in her heart for her cat “Smokey”.

Preceding Marilee in death were her parents, husband Dwight on April 23, 2000, sister Nada Van Buskirk and brother Elmer Peterson. She is survived by her sons; Alan & wife Madonna Hill of Plattsmouth, NE; Michael & wife Bonnie Hill of Council Bluffs, IA; Randolph Hill of Red Oak, IA; sister; Sheryl & husband Clifford Racine of Red Oak, IA; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
