Marlene R. (Sherfield) Sprain, 74 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away December 19, 2024 in Glenwood, Iowa. She was born March 16, 1950 to Thomas Clarence and Jennie (Freese) Sherfield in Eldora, Iowa. Marlene earned her master’s degree in psychology and taught school for many years. She was united in marriage to Robert Bruce Sprain on July 28, 1972 in Ackley, Iowa.
Marlene enjoyed reading and her pet therapy dogs. She would take them to the nursing homes to cheer residents up. Following retirement, she and Bruce enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona. The couple had fun throughout their marriage sharing humor and laughter wherever they went. Marlene touched so many lives and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding Marlene in passing were her parents. Survivors include her husband Bruce Sprain of Glenwood, Iowa; brother Clarence and wife (Joanne) Sherfield of Ackley, Iowa; two nieces and many friends.
Private Graveside Services are planned at Faith Presbyterian Church Cemetery, rural Ackley, Iowa.
