Marlys Jean (Dalton) Hetzel, 68, of Malvern, Iowa entered into rest on July 13, 2005 at her home. She was born April 14, 1937 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Charles Marlin & Maxine (Travelute) Dalton. Marlys graduated from Tabor High School in 1955 and attended college in Maryville. She was united in marriage to Jesse Franklin Hetzel on May 11, 1958 in Tabor, Iowa. To this union three sons were born, Tim, Ted and Todd.
Marlys had a zest for living and always enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She had a special garden spot, enjoyed reading and loved her job at Mills County Bank, where she was employed for 27 years. She was a member of the Tabor United Methodist Church, J.U.G. (Just Us Girls), Fairview Club and served on the Tabor Library Board for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Marlys is survived by her husband Jesse Hetzel of Malvern, IA; sons, Tim & wife Darla Hetzel and children Trevan and Tyler of Malvern, IA; Ted & wife Angie Hetzel and children Brock and Meleia of Tabor, IA; Todd & wife Tina Hetzel & infant son to be born in August named Jaxson of Omaha,NE; sister, Kae & husband Art Bateman of Hurst, TX; brother, Mike & Ginny Dalton of Prairie City, IA; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
