Melva N. (Hiley) Sellers, 89 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away on June 19, 2018 in Tabor, Iowa. She was born on February 7, 1929 in Lenox, Iowa to Wilda Ray “Pop” and Bertha (Anderson) Hiley.
Melva was united in marriage to Chester Gene Sellers on November 2, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kansas. To this union four children were born, Virginia, Lois, Leonard and LouAnne. Melva was employed as a supervisor at Unitog until her retirement. Melva was a member of the First Christian Church in Glenwood. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, going to the casino and eating out with friends. Her family was very special to her and they in turn loved her dearly.
Preceding Melva in passing were her parents, husband, daughter Lois, son-in-law Gene Sheets, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include her children Virginia Sheets of Glenwood, Iowa; Leonard (Jenny) Sellers of Fremont, Nebraska; LouAnne (Ben) Hastings of Glenwood, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Inurnment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa at a later date.

I love you very much Grandma, and I am sorry I can’t celebrate your life this weekend. You are and will always be my best friend and will always be in my heart. Love you grandma from Jake and Scott and I.

It is difficult to say good bye to a parent. Your family & mine were blessed to have our mothers so long. Glad we/they got to share our last months together. Thinking of you all!

I am sorry for your loss. I remember Chet and Melva when I stopped by on my way home from college. It was very nice to visit with family. Sorry I can’t be with the family tomorrow.
