Mike Crain, 45 of Glenwood, Iowa, passed away Oct. 19, 2006 near Bartlett, Iowa. He was born May 14, 1961 in Gillespie, IL to Richard Wesley and Margaret Faye (Davis) Crain.

Mike graduated from Nixa High School in 1979 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering from Rolla School of Mines in Rolla, MO. He was united in marriage to Susan Doyle on May 21, 1983 in Tama, IA. To this union two daughters were born, Kelli and Megan. They have lived in Glenwood since 1987. Mike was employed with the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers as a geological engineer. His memberships included the Wyoming Board of Geology, Nebraska Board of Geology, Knights of Columbus and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood where he enjoyed sharing his love of music with the quartet. Woodworking, model airplanes, reading, hunting, fishing and preparing the fish for others to eat and enjoy were some of Mike’s favorite pastimes. He was an avid Missouri Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals fan, loving anything to do with Missouri. He had a zest for life and nature and his fun-loving personality made him so easy to love. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sue Crain of Glenwood, IA; daughters, Kelli Lynn Crain and Megan Marie Crain both of Glenwood, IA; father, Richard Crain of Miami, FL; mother, Faye Crain of Glenwood, IA; sister, Denise Williams of Nixa, MO; niece, Holly Maples, a loving extended family, and a host of friends.
