Myron David “Dave” Hansen, 80, of Council Bluffs, Iowa entered into eternal rest on June 21, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was the son of John David & Louisa (Petersen) Hansen, born on May 25, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Dave was united in marriage to Nancy Baker Starr on Oct. 1, 1976 in Glenwood, Iowa. Dave was employed as a sheet metal worker for Local #3 until his retirement. He was a member of the Bluetick Breeders and Coon Hunters Association, Sheet Metal Union #3 and Sheet Metal Retirees Club. In his early years, Dave enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles. He was a gifted dog whisperer and loved his canine companion Okie. Dave will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Dave in death were his parents. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hansen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; children, John S. & wife Chris Hansen of Syracuse, Nebraska; Lori S. Cermak of Omaha, Nebraska; Diane L. & husband David Bemis of Omaha, Nebraska; Kerry & husband Dan Weber of Pennsylvania; Curt Starr of Silver City, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; extended relatives and many friends.
Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.
