Nancy L. West, 77, of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2008 at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. She was born Aug. 17, 1930 in Culbertson, Nebraska to James and Blanche (Bivens) Crowell. She lived with her family on a farm south of Culbertson, where she grew up and graduated from Culbertson High School in 1947.
Nancy was united in marriage on April 9, 1949 in Atwood, Kansas to Clifford Dean West. To this union one daughter, Linda Lee was born.
Nancy lived in Stratton, Nebraska until 1952 and then moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa, where her husband was employed by Iowa Power and Light Co. She was employed by the City of Missouri Valley in the City Clerks Office, a position she held until 1965 when her husband was transferred.
Loving City Government, she was hired in the City Clerk Office in Glenwood and was employed there for twenty years, sixteen of which she was City Clerk.
In 1985, she retired from work and remained a companion to her husband and family.
Preceding Nancy in death were her parents, husband in 2005, sister and two nieces. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Jens of Glenwood, IA; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey Jens, Dan Jens and Michaelene Fisher; 6 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jeffrey Jens; Kirkland and Carson Jens; Ethan and Ashley Fisher; brothers Kirk and Virginia Crowell and Daryl and Sandy Crowell all of Loveland, Colorado; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
