Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One for over 100 years.

Norma Lou Boles

Norma Lou Boles, 79 of Bellevue, NE formerly of Glenwood, IA entered into rest at Hospice With Heart in Glenwood. She was born May 1, 1935 in Malvern, IA to Clarence Clark & Hazel Irene (Kahre) Boles. Norma lived in Glenwood most of her life and graduated from Glenwood High School with the Class of 1953. She moved to Bellevue in 2011 to be near her daughter Patricia & husband Jim Hallahan.

Norma was a switchboard operator for 30 years with the Glenwood Resource Center. She belonged to several card clubs and began dog sitting for many families since 1982. Norma was a faithful member of the First Congregational U.C.C. She truly loved her family and friends and was a kind and loving person. Glenwood’s Homecoming was an event Norma looked forward to each year, so it seems appropriate that she had her own Homecoming to be joined with those who have gone before her.

Preceding Norma in death were her parents & brother Jon Boles. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia & husband Jim Hallahan of Bellevue, NE; brother, Clarence Jr. & wife Helen Boles of Glenwood, IA; sister-in-law, Linda Boles of Glenwood, IA; 4 nieces, 2 nephews, extended relatives & many friends.

Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Congregational U.C.C. or Hospice With Heart.

Patty, I know she is in heaven playing cards with all the other angels! She was one “special” lady and she loved you and Jim so much. Thank you for sharing her with us. Prayers to you and Jim and the rest of the family.

Patty, what can I say about your mom? She was a mom to all of us and knew everything about our families and extended families. She loved hearing about and telling stories on you, Michele, Jana, Jill, all the girls. But the love she had for you and Jim is what I will remember most.

Dear Patty and Jim and family,

Norma’s was an incredibly special person. She had The most generous heart and warm smile. She helped our family through a very difficult time. Harold was hospitalized for 3 weeks and Spice had 8 new puppies. Norma made it as smooth as possible. I like to think she is in Heaven tending all the puppies on the Rainbow Bridge. Thanks for being in our life.

I will always remember Norm for her tender yet in control voice that I loved to hear over the radio when I worked at GRC. I always knew she had my back when I needed her during emergency situations. Many times when I could tell she was having a rough day at the switch board, I would give her a quick call to let her know she was loved and appreciated. Once in awhile I’d stop by the ad building just to say hi to her and get one of her uplifting smiles. I will miss her, and am so glad she walked through my life. God bless you and all your family Patty.
