Oscar L. McCord, 83 of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest on Dec. 19, 2012 in Council Bluffs, IA. He was born on July 2, 1929 in Dunlap, IA to Melvin & Ada (Cover) McCord. Oscar faithfully served his country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Beverley Clark and later to Violet Clapper. Following the service, he was employed as an ironworker and then owned and operated several local bars and restaurants. Oscar was a people person and loved by so many. His family and friends meant the world to him. He was a hard worker & for many years held two jobs. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing & playing cards with his buddies. His outgoing personality will fondly be remembered by all who knew & loved him.
Preceding Oscar in death were his parents, siblings, Ruth McCord, George McCord, Bud McCord & Jean McCord Risinger; sons, Terry McCord & Don Perry & daughter, Renee Kudrna. He is survived by his children, Steve Perry of Centralia, WA; Jimmy McCord of Omaha, NE; Larry McCord of Centralia, WA; Lori McCord of Glenwood, IA; Sherrie McIntyre of Coeur d’ Alene, ID; Rhonda Estep of Centralia, WA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Mina Usher, Wanda Graham, Shirley McCord all of Glenwood, IA: Beverly McCord of AZ; Raymond McCord of CA; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.

Oscar was such a wonderful person/man! He always had a smile for us. We enjoyed his witty humor and that occasional sarcasm 🙂 He will be missed greatly by so many! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Cherish all your wonderful memories!
