Patti Terry, 66 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away on January 14, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on December 17, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Emil Edward and Doris Marie (Smittkamp) Olson. Patti was raised in Cedar Rapids along with her siblings. She earned her associate’s degree in horticulture and later received her B.S. degree in Education.
Patti was united in marriage to Richard Terry on June 4, 1972 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Megan, Brooke, Joel and Kevin. The family resided on the farm south of Glenwood where they had a tree farm and raised many animals. Also living on the family farm with them was Richard’s brother, Dean Terry. Some of Patti’s hobbies included scrapbooking, sewing, reading, crafting and shopping.
Preceding Patti in passing were her parents, brothers, Tom Olson and Mike Olson. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Richard Terry of Glenwood, Iowa; children, Megan (Brent) Reschly of Marshalltown, Iowa; Brooke Chapman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Joel Terry of Glenwood, Iowa; Kevin Terry (Kari Sherman) of Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law Dean Terry of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren, Kiley, Melanie, Riley, Madison, Savannah and Kiana; siblings, Lisa (Kent) Bowden of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Lorri Hutchcroft of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Stacey (Kevin) Bowden of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law, Gloria Olson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

So sorry to hear this! I enjoyed seeing her when she worked at the Glenwood High School.
Patti was known and loved in many circles. She had a passion for helping others that surfaced in all situations. My children felt it in 4-H times, the community felt it during band/wreath fundraising times and her church family felt it all of the time. Bless you all as you continue life’s journey. Smile and remember the fun, silly and family times Patti was a part of. Every single time I look at a tree, I will remember and smile, as I think of Patti. Blessings to you all.
