Paul E. Downing Sr., 94 of Glenwood, Iowa formerly of Omaha, Nebraska passed away October 31, 2020 in Glenwood. He was born April 14, 1926 in Green City, Missouri to Charles and Evelyn (Sizemore) Downing.
Paul was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Ocker on December 24, 1955 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Paul faithfully served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a maintenance engineer for UNMC until his retirement. Paul and Mary moved to rural Pacific Junction in 1992. His family was very close to him and will cherish the many good times spent together.
Preceding Paul in passing were his parents, wife, brothers Donnie, Nathan and Ralph; sister Mary Lee Ware, son John Robb, son Lee Ocker, grandson Randy Ocker, granddaughter Nikki Caudill and great-granddaughter Julie Robb. Survivors include his son Paul Jr. and wife Mary Downing of Pacific Junction, Iowa; daughters-in-law Mary Robb and LaVonne Ocker; sister-in-law Rosalie Ocker Turner and husband David Turner; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and may friends.
Interment, Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the Bloom Senior Center in Glenwood, Iowa.

We love and miss you so much. I will miss talking to you having at least 3to 4 phone calls every day. We laughed we talked and it was so special to me. If you didn’t call I was always calling you. I will miss you forever but we will see each other again. Love you 😍 so much your daughter in law Mary

Such a huge loss for the family and many friends. We watched many Music Fests together in Bloomfeild, Ia. We camped together every year a week in September. He was a great Brother-in Law. He will ne missed.
