I am sorry to hear about Paula’s death. I met her when we started in Kindergarten and went clear through High School with her. I have fond memories of playing afterschool with her and other classmates on the playground and at her home. I enjoyed visiting with her at our class reunions. She was always one of the first classmates to respond to our invitations. She had a great memory of our school days and she will be missed!
It is so sad that we lost Paula. She was my first cousin, and I have very fond memories of her from childhood, when our two families went back and forth between Omaha and Glenwood. Some of my best early memories are of the fun times we had together as kids, such as shadow-playing in the floodlights at the Glenwood Courthouse on a summer night. Though she later went East and I went West, we kept in touch through Christmas cards, and I always hoped to see her again. I’m very sorry she is gone now.
I am sorry to hear of Paula’s passing. I didn’t know her that well, however we used to see her parents, Edith and Gerrald every year on Memorial Day when they would come to Corning, Iowa and Prairie Rose cemetery to place flowers on graves.
Thank you to everyone who leaves a memory or condolence message! It is greatly appreciated!
Paula was my cousin and I loved her dearly. I know many people remember her with fondness.
I most appreciate all the great, fun times Paula, my sister and I shared. Sometimes we laughted until our sides hurt.
I will cherish her memory in my heart always!
Paula was my second cousin, but the only cousin I had that was a female, and close to my age. Once a year (in the summer) my parents would drive to Glenwood to visit Paula’s parents. It was a big event and I always looked forward to the time I would spend with Paula.
We laughed a lot and had great times playing together. On Memorial Day she would come with her parents to our house to visit. I especially remember a puppet show we put on for our parents. My father took pictures and Paula looked like she was having so much fun.
When I was older I attended Iowa State University. Paula also attended the same university and chose the same dormitory that I lived in. It was nice having her close by, for a couple of years.
PAULAS FOLKS WOULD COME EVERY SUMMER TO IOWA WHERE WE LIVED. OUR CHILDREN ENJOYED PLAYING ALL AFTERNOON AND SORRY TO SE THEM LEAVE . PAULA WAS A HAPPY GIRL .
I WAS A BIT SAD WHEN SHE MARRIED AND MOVED SO FAR AWAY.
MY HUSBAND AND I MISSED HER WHEN WE WENT TO VISIT HER
FOLKS.
Paula and I met in Kindergarten and then again in high school. She was a very dear friend and always had a kind word for everyone. I enjoyed spending time with her and her parents in their apartment in that big house on the corner. We saw each other a few times after our daughters were born and made more memories.
I was saddened to hear of Paula’s passing. Paula and I were second cousins and until I moved away, we had spent most of our senior year in high school together. Paula was not only a cousin but a good friend, I miss our talks and think of her often.
