There will be Graviside Memorial Services Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the First Congregation U.C.C. or the Glenwood Public Library.

Phelie (Theo Gayle) Crouch-Seddon, 83, of Glenwood, IA, entered into eternal rest on May 29, 2010 at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. She was born Aug. 26, 1926 in Creston, IA to Lawrence & Hazel (Winger) Deacon. Phelie attended Creston schools until 1941 when the family moved to Glenwood. She attended Glenwood High School and graduated in 1944. After receiving her teaching certificate, Phelie taught school for 2 years at Williams School and Pleasant Valley School, both in Mills County.
On Aug. 8, 1946, Phelie was united in marriage to Albert (Abie) William Crouch. To this union four daughters were born, Sherlie, Jennie, Vicki and Polly. The family lived on a farm raising cattle, hogs and grain. On Nov. 3, 1970, Abie passed away and Phelie maintained the farming business, living in the home she had built in 1972 in the south pasture of the home place. On June 19, 1976, she was united in marriage to Donald J. Seddon. Phelie enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting. She was a huge Cubbies fan attending their annual games in Chicago. She liked to fish and watch the birds, turkeys and deer from her picture window. Phelie had the gift of music and played the organ by ear. She also enjoyed the big band music. She dearly loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Congregational U.C.C. and West Liberty Friendship Club.
Preceding Phelie in death were her parents, husband Albert, brothers, Donald Deacon, Robert Deacon; sisters, Maudie K. Hansen and Telitha V. Claiser. She is survived by her husband Donald J. Seddon of Glenwood, IA: daughters, Sherlie A. & husband Brian Magaret; Jennie D. & husband Wils Carr, Vicki J. & husband Mark Lauenroth all of Glenwood, IA: Polly J. & husband Andy Young of Pacific Junction, IA; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
