Richard Gene Eustice

Richard Gene Eustice, 60 of Glenwood, Iowa entered into rest at his home surrounded by his family from pancreatic cancer on December 11, 2017. He was born on June 2, 1957 to Richard Eugene and Betty Marie (Maze) Eustice in Nebraska City, Nebraska. He grew up in Hastings and Malvern. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Navy where he was a Sea Bee.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Ellen Rhode on June 25, 1977 in Glenwood, Iowa where they raised three sons Kevin, Bryan and Richard Lynn. He worked for 15 years as a farmer for Bill Wright doing fieldwork and taking care of livestock. Richard also worked as a propane delivery driver for Co-Op in Silver City and worked at John Deere in Malvern.

He enjoyed working in his garage, attending auctions, camping, and fishing with his son Bryan and grandson Treston.

Richard was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend and neighbor. He was well known and widely respected in the farming community in Mills County.

Preceding Richard in passing was his son Richard Lynn Eustice, parents, Richard Eugene Eustice and Betty Eustice, mother-in-law Jeanne Howrey, father-in-law Jonathon Rhode and sister Karen Seely May. Survivors include his wife Nancy Eustice of Glenwood, Iowa; sons Kevin Rhode of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Bryan (Shannon) Eustice of La Vista, Nebraska; grandchildren Treston Eustice, Samantha Rhode and Abigail Rhode; sisters, Ruth Ann Kyle of Malvern, Iowa Valerie (Joe) Earl of Loogootee, Indiana, Valerie, Ellen (Mike) Mantle of Plantersville, Texas, Theresa (Fred) Courtier of Glenwood, Iowa; brothers-in-law Tom McGlade of Hamburg, Iowa; John (Trescha) McGlade of Glenwood, Iowa, Brad Florian of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sisters-in-law Patty (Mick) Mumm of Plattsburg, Missouri, Janice (Ronnie) Johansen of Glenwood, Iowa; mother-in-law Ruth Rhode of Tabor, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Inurnment and military rites will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Richard G. Eustice Memorial Fund at Glenwood State Bank.
