Robert “Bob” Dalton

Robert M. “Bob” Dalton, 71, of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest on Jan. 9, 2012 in Omaha, NE. He was born Oct. 15, 1940 in Glenwood, IA to Clayton Edison “Jack” & Evelyn Bernice (Osterholm) Dalton.

Bob was a native of Glenwood and was the proud father of his children Lisa and Jason. He owned and operated the local Dairy Queen for many years. In recent times, Bob drove the school bus for the Glenwood Community District. Being a sports enthusiast, he always looked forward to transporting students to their athletic events as well. He was an avid Ham Radio Club member with his call sign being KC0ECI. Along with going to coffee with his friends, Bob was first and foremost a dedicated father and grandfather. They could always depend on him to save front row seats at all of their events and took them to and from various activities, loving every minute of it. No matter what the task, his family could always count on him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents, many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children, Lisa & husband Duane Leu; Jason & wife Amanda Dalton all of Glenwood, IA; 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel, Alicia & Joshua Leu; Pierce Dalton and another Dalton grandson on the way; former wife, Linda Schoening Jens; extended relatives and many friends.

Inurnment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery following the Celebration of Life.

Bob was one of my first “true loves” and I am blessed to have had him in my life. I remember in the late 50’s and early 60’s sitting on a hill somewhere, him talking to his friends on his c.b. radio. Our paths led us in different directions but I have never forgotten him and I treasure what communication we did have. He was a very special person to me. May he rest in peace. Thanks for the memories, dear friend.

Thanks to whomever forwarded the obituary. I had not realized Bob had died. He would stop in at the Pott. County EOC when he was in Council Bluffs and we would chat about amateur radio stuff.

Blessings to his family for whom life continues without him. He is at peace,

    Terry Lindsley, ks0L (call sign)

Bob will be missed by our family as well. He wa the early morning “talk radio” as he went along as someone drove to work. The hame radio antenna on my roof is one that Bob helped me to find and he was a ready source of information when it came to Ham radio. 73’s and rest easy Bob
