Russel Alan Moulton, 68, of rural Glenwood, IA, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his home.

A memorial service, followed by military rites, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel, 226 S. Odell, Marshall, MO, 65340.  There will be a visitation from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.  Memorials may be made to Raptor Recovery Program at Fontenelle Forest, 1111 Bellevue Blvd. N., Bellevue, NE, 68005; National MS Society c/o: Russel Moulton Memorial Fund, P.O. Russel was born in Jackson County, MO, on February 3, 1950, and was the son of the late Charles Henry Moulton Jr. and Olive Lorene Drake Moulton.  He was a graduate of Lee’s Summit High School and then served our country in the United States Army.  Russel served in the 18th Military Police Brigade in Vietnam, and was presented with the Bronze Star Medal on August 5, 1971 for meritorious achievement in ground operations against hostile forces.

In 1974 he graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and then earned a Master’s degree in Psychology in 1978 from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.

On December 30, 1974, Russel was united in marriage to Raydene Clemens and she survives of the home.

Russel was a licensed clinical psychologist and had worked at Marshall Habilitation Center, Glenwood Resource Center, Maun Lempke and Associates, and University of Iowa.  In 1996, he opened Dimensions, Inc. which he owned and operated.

He loved the outdoors, golfing, feeding birds, spending time with his favorite cat, Mr. Cramer, and sports.  Russel was an avid softball player and through the years had played on numerous slow pitch softball teams including: Indian Foothills Pink Panthers, Mr. C’s Seedsmen’s Lounge, Pummill’s Sporting Goods, and Nelson Farms.  Many of those teams were district champions for numerous years.  A great sporting honor for Russel came in October 2012 when he was inducted into the Missouri Valley College Hall of Fame for outstanding athleticism in football.

In addition to his wife, Raydene; he is survived by one son, David Morgan of Omaha, NE; two sisters, Velma Johnson and husband Ed of Columbia, MO, and Mary Moulton of Holts Summit, MO; two brothers, Jerry Moulton and wife Wanda of Lewisburg, WV, and Robert Moulton and wife Earlene of Cassville, MO; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Russel was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Moulton.
