Samuel Levie Anglen, Jr., 59 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away at his home surrounded by his family on February 9, 2019. He was born on April 1, 1959 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Samuel Levie and Sharon Lee (Hunter) Anglen.
Sam was raised in Glenwood and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1977. He was united in marriage to Carla Jean Hansen on September 22, 2001 in Glenwood, Iowa. Sam was employed with Glenwood Municipal Utilities as an Assistant Supervisor for 32 years. He was known as a tool man and enjoyed helping people with projects. Sam loved to fish, hunt and play cards, especially a good game of poker. His grandsons meant everything to him. His kind heart and quick wit will be forever missed.
Preceding Sam in passing were his parents and brother Richard Anglen. Survivors include his wife Carla of Glenwood, Iowa; children Honey Wear (Tyler Palmer) & children Austin Wear, Connor Wear and Ronin Palmer of Glenwood, Iowa; Casey Merdith and daughter Carlie Meredith of Wayne, Nebraska; brother Randy (Deb) Anglen of Glenwood, Iowa; Tony (Amber) Anglen and family; Cory Anglen (Jennifer Cobb) and son Nathan; son-in-law Caleb Wear; extended relatives and many friends.
Interment at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Foundation.

Carla and Honey, I am so sorry to learn of Sam’s passing. He was a great guy and such a good neighbor. My deepest condolences are with you and the rest of your family. As you go through these difficult days, please take care of yourselves as well.
Sam was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. He always liked to make people laugh. Carla, I am so sorry for your loss. I have been praying for God’s comfort to you and your family during this time of sorrow. Sammy will be missed by all who had the great gift of knowing him.
May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.

My deepest sympathies go out for Sam’s family. He was one of the kindest and most gentle men I have had the privilege of calling a classmate and friend. Thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.
