INTERMENT: Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa
Sarah Caroline Bloom, 68 of Glenwood, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends at the Hospice With Heart facility in Glenwood, Iowa. She was born Jan. 14, 1943 in Omaha, NE to Carroll and Hazel (Sullivan) Bloom. She resided in Glenwood all of her life with her family and friends who cared deeply for her.
Sarah loved the color red, wearing jewelry and lots of it, including her watch. She also enjoyed getting after the people that took care of her with creative verbal expressions, followed by, I’m sorry honey, I love you!”
Sarah also talked about when she was young, going to the cemetery, smoking cigarettes and kissing boys. Growing up she was a very spirited child and had a colorful and vibrant personality. She loved watching Lawrence Welk, whom she would call her Daddy. Sarah liked to work to earn her money for pop, candy ice cream and a new bling. She laughed in enjoyment whenever anyone got in trouble. She always wanted staff to be fired if she was mad at them. She was much loved by all who knew her. Sarah’s colorful personality will not be forgotten.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by the many friends who cared for her throughout her life.
