On May 19, 1945, Shirley and Otis were united in marriage at the United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Shirley worked at Offutt Air Force Base and later spent 25 years working at the Glenwood Resource Center before retiring in 1986. Otis Sr. passed away on November 6, 1998.
Shirley was known for her love of the sun, swimming, roller skating and all things Elvis. In her later years she enjoyed traveling, riding her bicycle, animals, going to the casino, and spending time with her loving companion, Arthur Garges.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otis, two sisters, Beverly Durfey and Donna Meyers-Hicks, and one brother, Bud Halterman.
She is survived by her companion, Arthur Garges; three sons; Otis Turner Jr. (Connie) of Pacific Junction, Steve Turner (Shelly) of Glenwood, and Larry Turner (Marlene) of Pacific Junction; one daughter, Carmen Scroggs (Jack) of Pacific Junction; numerous grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.
Shirley’s zest for life will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on through all who knew her.

Have known Shirley for many years as we were both PJ gals! She was one of a kind, and I mean that in a good way. A joy to be around and so fun and always upbeat. A beautiful lady inside and out. Thinking of Art and all 4 kids.
