Thomas Franklin Colpitts, IV, 51 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away at his home January 2, 2020. He was born August 5, 1968 in Wichita., Kansas to Thomas Franklin, III and Kathleen Ann (Lewis) Colpitts.
Tom graduated from Glenwood High School in 1986 and earned his Associate Degree from Iowa Western Community College. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Dawn Marie Allen on November 14, 1987 in Glenwood, Iowa. Tom faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps and the Army. He worked as an electrician for Miller Electric.
Tom enjoyed reading, music and paracord projects. He and Elizabeth enjoyed traveling together and resided in many places during his time in the service.
Preceding Tom in passing were his parents. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Colpitts of Glenwood, Iowa; mother-in-law Sally Allen of Glenwood, Iowa; brother Terry (Stephanie) Colpitts of Glenwood, Iowa; sister Kathryn (Katy) Colpitts of Council Bluffs, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the family.

I have thought of Tom several times sense graduation hoping the best for him and Elizabeth. Actually and truthfully thinking of Tom Thursday morning before I heard he had passed. My prayers go out to Elizabeth and his family for their loss. Peace be with you.

I served in the Army with Tom. So sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences and prayers to the family.
So sorry for your loss, Tom was in the 561st Army Reserves with me and my husband way back when. He was always a good guy and full of laughs and smiles. Sending you all prayers and hugs!
