Thomas Lee Ely, 60, of Glenwood, Iowa, formerly of Kellogg, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on February 27, 2009 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born October 12, 1948 in Melbourne, Iowa to Laurel Jackson and Mary Katheryn (Brozovich) Ely.
Tommy had been residing in Glenwood, Iowa for the past nine years until his recent move to Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was always a happy person and could entertain himself with a book or newspaper for hours. In his younger years, Tommy earned many medals in the Special Olympics. He enjoyed bowling and any activity that the home provided for him to do. Tommy enjoyed dancing and eating as well. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Thomas in death were his parents and six brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sisters, Lucinda “Sue” Shook of Omaha, Nebraska; Nancy Stevens of Colorado; Florine Good of Iowa; and brother, Laurel “Bud” Ely; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
