Victoria “Vicky” L. Mayhew

Victoria “Vicky” Lane Mayhew, 69 of Glenwood, Iowa entered into rest on May 21, 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on December 16, 1946 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Forrest and Inez Elaine (Murphy) Dather. She was raised in several small communities until her family moved to Fremont, Nebraska in the 1950’s, graduating from Fremont High School in 1965. She earned her degree as a Medical Technologist and was employed at the Glenwood Resource Center until her retirement.

Vicky was united in marriage to Herb Mayhew on April 22, 1967 in Fremont, Nebraska. To this union three sons were born, Richard, Robert and Ron. The family enjoyed many camping trips together. Vicky loved working craft shows with Herb and met many friends along the way that she considered extended family. Vicky also enjoyed her flowers and watching the birds in her yard.

Preceding Vicky in passing were her parents and sister, Jo Hart. Survivors include her husband, Herb Mayhew of Glenwood, Iowa; children, Richard and wife Diane Mayhew of Glenwood, Iowa; Robert and wife Michelle of Malvern, Iowa; Ron and wife Jennifer Mayhew of Bellevue, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Gary and Marilyn Dather; Debra and Mike Lackey; Connie Dather all of Fremont, Nebraska; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established.
