Viola H. (Menninga) Roker, 92 of Glenwood, Iowa entered into eternal rest at her home on March 15, 2017 in Glenwood, Iowa. She was born Nov. 4, 1924 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Louis H. and Mary (Huls) Menninga. Viola graduated from high school and several years later was united in marriage to Myron Roker on June 2, 1946 in rural Beatrice, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with seven children and they fostered 19 children over a 10 year period. Viola and Myron were faithful members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood, where she was active in the Women’s Dorcas. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafts, baking and traveling with the Holiday Rambler’s camping group. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceding Viola in passing were her parents, son, Donald Lee Roker and one niece. Survivors include her husband, Myron Roker of Glenwood, Iowa; children, William (Pam) Roker of Nebraska City, Nebraska; Robert (Lisa) Roker of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Marlene (Larry) Turner of Pacific Junction, Iowa; Dennis (Teena) Roker of Glenwood, Iowa; Shari (Bob) Brown of Glenwood, Iowa; Kelly Roker of Glenwood, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Louise Ackley of Orlando, Florida; sister-in-law Joan Hodge of Ennis, Texas; 2 nieces, 1 nephew, extended relatives and many friends.
Interment will be held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Clatonia Cemetery, Clatonia, Nebraska.
