Virginia Lucille Christensen, 89, of Glenwood, Iowa, formerly of Pacific Junction, Iowa, entered into rest on May 25, 2015 at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. She was one of eleven children born to William and Georgia (McDowell) Aughe. She was born February 20, 1926 in Mills County, Iowa.
On April 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to Alexander Christensen and to this union, one son, Jay was born.
Virginia loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, entertaining friends, providing whatever help was needed in the church (serving in both the United Methodist in Pacific Junction and Trinity Lutheran in Glenwood) and participating in all kinds of musical activities. She was a wonderful, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and 10 siblings; John Aughe, Edythe Adkins, Agnes Edwards, Violet Wilson, Coreata Shook, Irvin Aughe, Clarence Aughe, Gerald Aughe, Geraldine Aughe, and Edmond Aughe. Survivors include her son, Jay and his wife, Janelle of Pacific Junction; grandchildren Jenna Christensen of Council Bluffs and Jacob Christensen of Pacific Junction; sister-in-laws Jo Aughe of Council Bluffs and Doris Aughe of Fresco, Texas, extended relatives and many friends.
Interment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Glenwood, Iowa or the United Methodist Church, Pacific Junction, Iowa.
