Masonic Services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 6:00 p.m with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson Mortuary.

Walter Andrew Marshall, 87 of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on May 20, 2006 at Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs. He was born December 23, 1918 in Glenwood, Iowa to Walter Cecil and Bess (Dill) Marshall. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1936 and was activated in 1941, serving his country in the Army during WW II. He was a P.O.W. for 2 å_ years during this war period. He later attended Tabor College.

Walter was united in marriage to Norma Palmer on August 25, 1946 in Glenwood, Iowa. To this union two daughters were born, Harriett and Patricia. Walter loved farming, taking great pride in his love for agriculture and also enjoyed watching the deer. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Post 141, Elks in Omaha, was a former Mills County Supervisor for 8 years, and served on the Glenwood Water Board for many years.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma in 1984 and sister Harriett Gross. Walter was united in marriage to Wava Smith on October 18, 1990 in Bella Vista, Arkansas. They made their home in Glenwood and enjoyed dancing and spending time together.

Walter is survived by his wife Wava Marshall of Glenwood, IA; daughters: Harriett and husband Ron Deitchler of Kansas City, MO; Patricia and husband Robert Cameron of Mandeville, LA; granddaughter: Kristin Skinner of Harrisonville, MO; step-children: Janet Larabee of Lincoln, NE; Linda VanFosson of Shenandoah, IA; J. Robin Petty of Washington, IA; sister; Priscilla (Polly) Hopp of Glenwood, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, their extended families and a host of friends.
