Wilma Frances (Sell) Jens, 94 of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest on Jan. 9, 2014 in Bellevue, NE. She was the third child of eight born to Leonard B. & Blanche (Williams) Sell on Oct. 9, 1919 on the farm near Silver City, IA.
While in high school, Wilma was employed at Jameson’s Department Store. A few years following graduation from high school, she met and married Ervin William Jens on Nov. 19, 1941 in Glenwood, IA. To this union one son Owen was born. They continued to live on the farm until moving to Glenwood in 1970. Wilma and Ervin loved to attend dances. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mineola and helped with numerous bazaars. She was active in every capacity involving the church. Wilma was also a member of A.L.C.W. (quilting group). For many years she played in various card clubs. She was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding Wilma in death were her parents and siblings, Don Sell, Lawrence Sell & Glen Sell. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Ervin Jens of Glenwood, IA; son Owen & wife Linda Jens of Glenwood, IA; granddaughter Denise Jens of Glenwood, IA; 2 step-grandchildren Lisa Leu & Jason Dalton both of Glenwood, IA; 6 step great-grandchildren; siblings Lyle & wife Jodi Sell of Omaha, NE; Clifford “Tip” Sell of Washington; Betty Sell Goos of Treynor, IA; Dorothy & husband Gene Kennedy of Melrose, IA: sister-in-law Jean Sell of Glenwood, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Mineola Cemetery Fund.
Private interment will be held in the Mineola Cemetery.
